Welcome Home! (Southwest Library Presentation)

The reunion committee invites you to join us at the Southwest Library on Friday, October 3rd at 4:00 PM for a presentation by the school board about the bond election and conversion of Southwest to a middle school followed by a limited tour of the school building. We hope to finish close to 5:00 or shortly after so everyone has plenty of time to get to City Barrel for the start of the Friday night event at 5:30.

Jon Hile from the Kansas City School District and other school district officials will present the plans for the new middle school, discuss the bond election and show architectural renderings for the building. This will be followed by a Q&A session that will allow us to ask questions and make comments about what items are important for the middle school building and surrounding property.

It has generally been agreed that the building tour will be limited to the first floor since we will need to be escorted through the building by school district security personnel. Hopefully we will have the opportunity to tour the building after the renovation is completed.
